DoTerra Oils

Happy Friday y’all. 🙂 I love Easter long weekend, don’t you?! My mom always made it special with easter egg hunts, family outings and special foods like hot cross buns. I am continuing the tradition with my little 5 year old. I want to share with you, some great essential oils from DoTerra. A very old friend of mine is a distributor of DoTerra and asked if I would like some samples……YES PLEASE! 😉 I love essential oils but I had no idea you could use them in so many different ways. I knew they were good for relaxing and making homemade beauty products but there are so many other ways to use them. You can make your own fabric softener, cleaning solution, hand sanitizer, you can cook with them and more. I received 7 oils to try: peppermint, lavender, lemon, cinnamon, wild orange, digest-zen and slim & sassy.

Apple Chips

I went onto the DoTerra recipes page and found a great recipe for cinnamon apple chips. I knew this would make a tasty snack and make my house smell divine. Super simple and easy to make. Here are the instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 225 degrees, then thinly slice 2 organic apples with your mandolin.

2. Put a few drops of DoTerra cinnamon oil into a small dish with one tblsp of coconut sugar.

3. Spread out the  apple chips on parchment paper covered baking sheets, then sprinkle over the sugar mix.

4.Bake in the overn for 45-55 minutes.

Yoga Spray

I go to hot yoga a few times a week and my mat gets covered in sweat and bacteria front he hot yoga studio. I just ran out of my matt cleaner, so I decided this would be the perfect time to start making my own. I just filled my empty spray bottle with water and added a few drops of the lavender essential oil. Voila, perfect for sanitizing my mat and making it smell great. 😉 I am always finding myself dehydrated……I’m the worst. I need to start carrying a water bottle around with me all the time to remind myself to drink more water. I love lemon water, it just tastes better! I decided to try using a few essential oil lemon drops in my water. So refreshing and hydrating! 😉 I highly recommend these essential oils to anyone. I can’t wait to use them in some of my future recipes…..Im thinking lavender scones…!?! If you need more info on these products, contact my friend Sheila at DoTerra.
