Wow! I love going to new restaurants and trying out delicious food, especially when the whole menu is gluten and dairy free!! I am over on the Island in Victoria, visiting my family for Spring Break. I have been hearing about this restaurant Be Love for a while now and was just dying to try everything. 😉 The food was amazing, everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. What makes this place even cooler is that I know the family who opened it. I went to the same high school on Salt Spring Island with two of the owners family members, what a small world!
Be Love offers sustainable organic food to heal the body, mind & soul. All of the menu items are vegan and gluten free. They use locally sourced, organic ingredients and I think all the food is made with LOVE. 😉 They even have a “love bowl” which I didn’t try but sounded delicious. The love bowl is the first menu item I have ever seen that is priced by donation!! Wow they really want healthy food to be available to everyone. 🙂 The menu says “we believe that everyone deserves a warm healthy organic meal. be love offers the love bowl on a donation basis. no one is turned away.” Amazing!!
Me and my mom decide to order 3 different menu items to share, so we could try more food. 😉 We got a “bliss” salad which was unreal, it had local baby greens, shredded carrot & beet, cucumber, tomato, avocado, olives, sprouts & hemp hearts with tahini-lemon dressing. We also shared a raw crackers and “cheeze” plate, which was made of raw multi-seed crackers, almond ‘pumpernickel’ with fermented cashew cheeze & fig chutney. Last but not least we got the Beet Fritters which were served with cashew ‘sour cream’ & beet relish. We went for lunch so we didn’t sample any of their bar menu but they have some amazing wine options and unique cocktails. The next time I visit I must try the kombucha whiskey sour!! I highly recommend trying this nourishing and innovative restaurant if you are living in Victoria or visiting the city.
